I'll be honest with you. I'm not big on MTV. When I was younger it was one of the IT channels to watch. But, between my lackluster connection to current music and more than one time of losing cable. I had disconnected to it (unless you include old school episodes of the Real World on KCAL 9).
Every now and then I catch up with an MTV show and am always pleasantly rewarded from MADE, to THE HILLS, and now AWKWARD. starring Ashley Rickards (aka Sam Walker from One Tree Hill/ 2Katchapredator from Gamer).
The premise is simple. An awkward outcast receives a letter stating basically that she is nobody and gives her a to do list to get out of that (I.E. stop being a pussy). Of course this leads to her writing a mopey teen angst entry in her apparently public blog and then an accident that makes her look suicidal rather than just clumsy. In the end this leads her to cross off another item on the list (to stand out).
The show is funny, entertaining, only 30 minutes long (OK less with commercials), a solid cast that actually resembles (or for Hollywood standards) a real high school class. We get fun characters, formation of love triangles, actual love triangles, witty dialogue, and did I mention it's only 30 minutes long? I know, I did, but some shows tend to think an hour is the way to go and those shows tend to get canceled and/ or bad mouthed.
So in conclusion. AWKWARD. = entertainment.
